Noted as being one of the more talked about shows during this year’s London Collections, COTTWEILER’s 2016 fall/winter offering was presented in what was described by Matthew Dainty as “a commune of guys, starting society again from scratch.” Wholly provocative, the show’s neolithic, agriculturally driven aesthetic served as a stark contrast to the clean silhouettes presented across the collection. Exuding a very sport-like edge accented by hints of high fashion detailing, COTTWEILER’s latest offering appears to focus on relaxed tailoring with natural fastening
mechanisms subtly placed throughout each garment to not appear as imposing as that of a buckled belt for example. The agricultural setting was ultimately influenced by the collection’s wheat motifs and more natural appeal with a selection of high quality, technical Italian fabrics creating an innovative and cohesive line.
