Puff Daddy was arrested earlier today for felony assault with a deadly weapon after he attacked an UCLA football coach at the university’s practice facility.
Witnesses say the assistant coach was screaming at Justin, who is a defensive back on the UCLA football team, during a strength and conditioning drill. Diddy then confronted the coach in his office and a fight ensued, with PD allegedly beating the coach with a kettlebell weight.
The music mogul was arrested by campus police and remains in custody.
According to Diddy, he was the one who wanted to call the police but had the phone snatched from his hand.
Puffy, who spends much of his time in Los Angeles, is known to watch UCLA football practices. Bruins head coach Jim Mora has called the incident “unfortunate for all parties involved.”
UCLA issued this statement:
Shortly after 12:30 p.m. today, Sean Combs (also known as P. Diddy) was arrested at UCLA’s Acosta Athletic Training Complex on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, which was a kettlebell. No one was seriously injured and UCPD is investigating. Combs is expected to be transported to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Inmate Reception Center later this evening.
